Man dies in Des Plaines hit-and-run

One man was killed and another man was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning on Wolf Road in Des Plaines, police said.

The two men had exited a Pace bus and were attempting to cross Wolf Road near Jarvis Avenue about 6:15 a.m., Police Chief Bill Kushner said. A white work van traveling north struck the men, who were going to their jobs, and continued on Wolf Road, Kushner said.

The men were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where one of the men was pronounced dead, Kushner said. The other man had injuries that were described as not life-threatening, police said.
