Oakton hosting discussion of Super Bowl commercials

Whichever team viewers cheer for in Super Bowl on Sunday, they'll all join together in scrutinizing the high-dollar commercials aired during each break of the football action.

Oakton Community College is holding a lecture Feb. 15 to discuss effective and ineffective commercials from Super Bowl LI.

Tim Caulkins, an expert in brand building, is known for organizing panels of students in Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management to grade Super Bowl advertising. His groups are often interviewed after the big game by network broadcasters and business publications.

Caulkins will give a presentation and answer questions during the free seminar open to the public at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in room 1606 at 1600 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines.
