Wheeling principal promoted to District 214 post

Wheeling High School Principal Angela Sisi will become Northwest Suburban High School District 214's director of language development beginning July 1, district officials said.

In her new role, Sisi will assume leadership of the Newcomer Center, the district's program at Forest View Educational Center for newly immigrated students with limited English language skills. She will also work with the district's English Language Learning staff and parents, and oversee summer school programming for students in specialized programs.

Sisi has been principal since 2013, and served in a variety of positions at Stevenson High School from 1997 to 2013.

The current District 214 director of English Language Learners, Norm Kane, will head the Young Adult Program and replace the current program leader who is retiring at the end of the school year.

The district will conduct a national search this month to find a new Wheeling principal.
