Wheeling's vegan cafe Purple Sprout is starting a supper club series. The monthly event begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29. The theme is American favorites with a healthy twist -- vegan and raw vegan tapas-style courses that include hempburger sliders, sweet potato fries, pizza and sweet treats. $40 per person. Kings Bowl's new menu items
Kings Bowl says new year, new menu items with several added offerings across the board. Try the spicy Korean BBQ burger topped with cucumbers, Asian slaw, fried rice noodles and cilantro on a sesame seed bun for $7.99; or an entree like the spicy chicken peanut pad thai served with rice noodles, onions, red peppers, carrots, baby corn, scallions and snow peas tossed in a spicy peanut Pad Thai sauce for $14.99; or the banana nutella wontons dessert -- four wontons drizzled in Frangelico chocolate sauce, topped with crushed hazelnuts and vanilla ice cream for $5.99. Donati's Pizza Company introduces its new breakfast menu, which includes calzones, paninos and country gravy wings as well as 14-inch specialty deep dish breakfast pizzas for $25.
