Buffalo Grove High musical lets orchestra run wild

The Buffalo Grove High School Theater Arts Program presents an all-age showstopping performance of "Elephant & Piggie's We are in a Play!" from Friday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 4.

The song fest is ripped from the pages of Mo Willems' best-selling, award-winning children's books. The musical tells the story of Elephant Gerald and Piggie, who are the best of friends, and playfully explores the importance and true meaning of friendship.

Worrisome and careful Gerald wonders if something could go wrong that would end their friendship. But playful and spirited Piggie is not worried at all, especially when she receives an invitation to a party.

After each performance, young audience members will have the opportunity to take pictures with the stars, make an Elephant & Piggie themed craft, and try out the string and percussion musical instruments used in the show in the Instrument Petting Zoo.

Public performances run 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2; 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Tickets cost $5 at the door. Online tickets include a service charge and may be purchased at bghs.d214.org/tickets.
