Republican incumbents win in DuPage County District 3

Voters in the southeast corner of DuPage selected a pair of incumbents Tuesday to fill two District 3 seats on the county board.

With all 148 precincts reporting, unofficial results from District 3 show Republican incumbent Brian Krajewski of Downers Grove with 38,075 votes in the race for a 4-year term. His Democratic opponent, Anna Schiefelbein of Woodridge, received 30,159 votes.

Meanwhile, Republican incumbent Gary Grasso of Burr Ridge received 38,194 votes in the race for a 2-year term, according to unofficial totals. Democratic challenger Joseph Heneghan of Woodridge received 29,871 votes.

District 3 covers all or parts of Naperville, Woodridge, Downers Grove, Westmont, Darien, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge and Lemont.

Grasso, an attorney, is a former mayor and trustee in Burr Ridge who has served on the county board since 2012.

Krajewski, a CPA and attorney, served as Downers Grove mayor from 1999 to 2007 and has been a county board member since 2010.

Brian Krajewski will continue to represent District 3 on the DuPage County Board.
