Indiana man resuscitated 3 times, survives ATV crash

FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) - Police in Indiana say a man survived an all-terrain vehicle crash after he was resuscitated three times.

Indiana Conservation officers said late Tuesday that they're investigating the crash that injured 48-year-old John Taylor of Franklin. They say Taylor was operating the ATV when it fell into a culvert and flipped end-over-end twice. Police say Taylor landed on his head with the ATV on top of him.

Police said Taylor had no pulse when first responders arrived. Medics performed CPR and got a heartbeat before Taylor was taken by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. Police said Taylor's heart stopped twice during the flight and he was resuscitated each time. Authorities said Taylor is in critical but stable condition.

Police said Taylor wasn't wearing protective equipment. They say speed and alcohol are suspected causes of the crash.
