Images: #TBT Gallery looks at 1984 Chicago Cubs
In October of 1984. the Chicago Cubs won the first two of the best-of-five NLCS only to lose three straight in San Diego to the Padres.
The pictures in this gallery were all taken by Daily Herald photographers on the scene at Wrigley Field that postseason.
The Cubs had finished the regular season with a record of 96 wins and 65 losses.
With Cy Young Award winner Rick Sutcliffe in the pitching rotation and an MVP-award-winning campaign by second baseman Ryne Sandberg, the '84 Cubs were led by Manager Jim Frey.
The series loss to San Diego was their first postseason appearance since 1945.
