Traffic management creates a nightmare

Once again, the residents of Grand Dominion have been ignored. Not only do we not have a stoplight at the Route 176 entrance (where the speed limit is 55 mph), but we can no longer turn left onto Schank from Routes 60/83.

To get from Walgreens/Crossroads to Grand Dominion, we now have to cross five lanes of traffic to get into the sixth lane to turn right onto 176. The first lane is a continuous right-turn lane along 60/83 from 176 to 83. (Why that lane was lengthened to start before the entrance to Walgreens/Crossroads is beyond me.)

Next, you need to cross two more lanes, followed by another lengthened turn lane for traffic turning left onto Route 176, followed by another two lanes.

I bet that if you checked with the neighborhoods behind Walgreens/Crossroads they have seen an uptick in traffic from people driving through their subdivisions in order to safely turn onto Schank or 176.

Are there any intentions of illuminating the "No Left Turn" sign above Schank? Not a day goes by that I don't see someone turn left onto Schank. (My own 80-year old mother did it for weeks until we pointed out the No Left Turn sign.) Perhaps the Village is intending to use this as "revenue enhancement" and ticket all the senior citizens who for years were able to turn left (and safely, I might add) onto Schank.

I challenge anyone who was involved with this decision to go from Walgreens/Crossroads to Grand Dominion at rush hour.
