Carhartt clothing store to open in Gurnee Friday

Carhartt, a workwear brand since 1889, announced it will open a store Friday at Gurnee Town Center, a center owned by Retail Properties of America Inc. based in Oak Brook.

"This community has a rich farming and railroad history, which is reminiscent of our company's heritage. We're honored to service the people of Gurnee and the surrounding communities, who will find year-round, rugged apparel needs for the entire family," said Jamie Millar, vice president of retail at Carhartt.

The Gurnee Towne Center store - the brand's 30th - will occupy more than 3,900 square feet and will carry hundreds of men's, women's and children's apparel styles, footwear and accessories. Shoppers can expect to find Carhartt's iconic brown duck, sandstone and denim styles as well as the brand's all new Force Extremes and Carhartt Force performance line.

"We look forward to the opening of Carhartt at Gurnee Town Center just in time for the holiday season," said Stacy Short, vice president, leasing director western division.

The Gurnee store is located at 7055 W. Grand Ave., and it is the latest to join Carhartt company store locations in Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

Established in 1889, Carhartt is a global workwear brand with a heritage of developing rugged products for workers on and off the job. Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, with approximately 5,400 employees worldwide, Carhartt is family owned and managed by the descendants of the company's founder, Hamilton Carhartt.
