What is he hiding?

Thank you for the opportunity to contribute our strong preference for the endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president.

As we are all well aware this election is coming down to two people. Yes, a more career type politician (with some baggage) - Clinton or a businessman with little government knowledge or discipline to understand what is needed to be the leader of the free world - Trump.

Trump has demonstrated in the Republican primary and this current two-person campaign a lack of temperament and a "low road" attack mentality that appears to be making the United States a worldwide joke. Trump's pandering to the many fringe and special interest groups has provoked fear, anger and division like never seen in modern political presidential history.

Trump's refusal to show his taxes raises wide concern for what he may be hiding. Trump's recent "no taxes paid in 18 years" is not the concern. That's a tax code concern. Trump's continued refusal. however, to release tax records could indicate a refusal to disclose the extent of his financial dealing with foreign governments, which is a huge potential concern for possible conflicts of interest. All presidential candidates have released their taxes for the last 50-60 years but Trump refuses with an "audit" excuse which has been proven invalid.

Now we find out about offices rented to Iranian business people and numerous other possible conflicts. This includes Newsweek.com's recent investigations of multiple alleged foreign investment conflicts as well as illegal expenditures in Cuba.

Again, we remind your editorial board and everyone - what else could he possibly be hiding?

Also Trump has one fraud suit pending and possible litigation with his foundation . What more?

Hillary Clinton has her faults, has made mistakes and not just with her emails. She has however had eight years at the White House understanding the pressures of the position. This experience demonstrates to many that she understands the complexities of being a world leader.

She also had years as a popular New York Senator, and as we well know was secretary of state for four years. Her overall worldwide stature allows us to have a stable (not reckless) leader for the next four years.

We can then re-elect or defeat her based on performance with her performance hopefully not with a Congress dedicated to political division and opposition as Obama encountered.

We cannot afford to to gamble on a reckless inexperienced so-called successful businessman that is reluctant to show any of his past including taxes and possible foreign interests conflicts as outlined above.

This is why we strongly urge you to endorse Hillary Clinton. Please do not be as irresponsible as the Chicago Tribune and "cop-out" with a third or fourth party endorsement. It is obvious that either Trump or Clinton will be president and as stated, the whole world is watching.

Again, we urge you to endorse Hillary Clinton. Thank you again for this input opportunity from a long time Daily Herald subscriber.
