Public housing opportunities
Lake County Housing Authority officials have announced how potential residents can pursue availabilities. Starting at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, a list will open for scattered-site, three-bedroom units throughout Lake County. The applications will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, only at lakecountyha.org. Roughly 300 preliminary applications will be randomly selected using a computer-generated lottery system. Starting at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, website-only applications will begin the Section 8 housing choice voucher waiting list. It'll run through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. About 5,000 preliminary applications will be randomly selected.
