Riverwoods forum to discuss turtle recovery

Wildlife Biologist Gary Glowacki will discuss the Lake County Forest Preserve District's Blanding's Turtle Recovery Program at the Ethel Untermyer Conservation Forum from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Edward L. Ryerson Welcome Center, 21950 N. Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods. A special kids-only turtle program will be offered for ages 5 to 12 during the adult presentation. There is no admission for families with children aged 5 and over, but registration is required. The forum was established through support from family and friends of the late open space activist Ethel Untermyer to honor her efforts leading to the creation of the forest preserve district in 1958.
