ND-NC State game delayed at halftime due to lightning

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The Notre Dame-North Carolina State game has resumed after a weather delay of about 20 minutes.

N.C. State spokesman Fred Demarest says the start of the third quarter of Saturday's game was held up after a lightning strike was reported within 15 miles of the stadium. Both teams remained in the locker room for a few extra minutes and a voluntary evacuation was called at Carter-Finley Stadium. Fans who left were allowed to return.

The teams returned to the field at 2:20 p.m., and the third-quarter kickoff happened 10 minutes later.
