Barrington Area Council of Governments hosting series of fall events

The Barrington Area Council of Governments is kicking off an ambitious roster of events this fall, including private well water testing and an emergency management workshop.

The council's annual Private Well Water Testing Event for residents will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, and includes a free program titled "Lead in Drinking Water," at 6 p.m. at The Garlands, 1000 Garlands Lane, in Barrington.

In partnership with the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and Barrington Area Unit School District 220, there will be a legislative breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, Makray Memorial Golf Club, featuring the area's state legislators. On Oct. 14, the council will host an emergency management workshop addressing the response to a potential railroad disaster, followed by its annual dinner on Nov. 11 at Pinstripes in South Barrington.

The council's members are Barrington, Barrington Hills, Barrington Township, Cuba Township, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, South Barrington and Tower Lakes.
