Several hundred children's and young adult book lovers and educators will come together for Anderson's Bookshops' 13th annual Young Adult Literature Conference, a gathering of authors, educators and others interested in the best and newest in young adult literature.

This year's event will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville, 3003 Corporate West Drive, Lisle. The cost for the day is $119, including a continental breakfast and a plated luncheon. Tickets are available at andersonsyaconference.brownpapertickets.com.

Headlining authors for conference are Kenneth Oppel, Adam Silvera, Jordan Sonnenblick and Ellen Hopkins.

Other participating authors include Frank Beddor, Anne Greenwood Brown, Kym Brunner, Julie Buxbaum, Sharon Cameron, Traci Chee, C. Desir, Paula Garner, Kathleen Glasgow, Goeff Herbach, Miranda Kenneally, Brendan Kiely, Sarah Darer Littman, Chris Lynch, Adriana Mather, Anna Michels, Susan Moger, Jennifer Niven, Joy Preble, Adam Selzer, Sherri L. Smith, Ann Stampler, Laura Stampler, Aaron Starmer, Paula Stokes, Krystal Sutherland, Kara Thomas, Maggie Thrash and Jeff Zentner.

Participants have opportunities to purchase their books and get them autographed. Breakout sessions are offered on a variety of motivating topics.

Space is limited, and the event has been a sellout in the past.

In addition to the conference, Anderson's Bookshops will host a second event for fans that weekend at the Hilton Lisle. The popular Fandom Frenzy program -- now in its fourth year -- with many of the same authors, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8. The event includes quirky author panels, author story starter sessions, lightning round literary quiz questions and an Inside the Writers Studio with a James Lipton-esque interview. A pizza buffet lunch will be served to participants.

Tickets cost $49 and also are available at andersonsyaconference.brownpapertickets.com. A combination ticket for both days costs $148. Continuing Professional Development credits are available to attendees.
