Planters NUTmobile visits Mariano's in Gurnee

The Planters Peanut NUTmobile, a 24-foot-long, peanut-shaped truck, made a stop at Mariano's in Gurnee Friday as part of its nationwide tour.

Also on hand was Mr. Peanut, who is celebrating his 100th birthday.

Three NUTmobile's travel across the country with their three-person crews called Peanutters.

The NUTmobile has sustainable features, such as a wind turbine and solar panels that charge the truck's internal batteries. It is also able to run on biodiesel fuel that can be made from peanut oil.

The NUTmobile will be at the Vernon Hills Mariano's, 1720 N. Milwaukee Ave, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.
