Hoffman Estates extends firefighters contract through 2020
Hoffman Estates officials and the village's firefighters union have reached agreement on a three-year extension of the current contract that will run from Jan. 1, 2018 through Dec. 31, 2020.
In addition to establishing periodic pay raises, the contract extension allows up to 15 firefighters to take early retirement with 15 months of paid health insurance or the cash equivalent between now and the end of 2020.
The established salary increases for members of the Hoffman Estates Professional Firefighter Association, Local 2061 are 1 percent on both Jan. 1 and July 1, 2018; 2 percent on Jan. 1, 2019; and 1 percent on both Jan. 1 and July 1, 2020.
