Hanover Park man charged with burglary

A Hanover Park man, on probation after pleading guilty earlier this year to a 2015 Palatine burglary, faces new charges

Jose Rojas-Alcocer, 22, was ordered held on no bail because of his probation violation.

Police arrested him about 10:45 p.m. Saturday after he entered the garage of a home on the 7800 block of Kensington in Hanover Park without permission, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Maureen McGee.

The homeowner, who noticed a missing snowblower and exterior damage, provided police with a license plate number, McGee said. Rojas-Alcocer had left behind a jacket containing a piece of paper, which led police to his home, she said. There, a relative confirmed that the license plate number belonged to Rojas-Alcocer's car, McGee said.

He next appears in court on Oct. 6.
