Crystal Lake man arrested in Elgin home invasion
A Crystal Lake man has been charged in an Elgin break-in Monday in which a resident was beaten and kicked.
Maurice D. Wilson, 19, of the 100 block of Hilltop Drive, was charged with one count of home invasion, Elgin police said in a news release Saturday. Police still are searching for other suspects.
Police gave this account:
About 6 a.m. Aug. 30, several subjects forcefully kicked in the front door and entered a residence in 0-100 block of Garden Crescent Court. Once inside, they beat and kicked the victim. After the offenders fled, the victim, whose injuries were not life-threatening, called police. The follow-up investigation led to the arrest and the Kane County state's attorney's office authorized the charge. Bond was set at $10,000.
