Naperville man charged in federal child porn case

A 53-year-old Naperville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Chicago on child pornography charges after authorities said he recorded sexual acts involving underage boys.

Douglas A. Willis is charged with one count of conspiracy to produce child pornography and one count of producing child pornography, authorities said. He pleaded not guilty Wednesday during an arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary M. Rowland.

The indictment alleges Willis and an unindicted co-conspirator agreed the co-conspirator would recruit boys younger than 18 to engage in sex acts and pose for nude photos and videos in exchange for money.

The co-conspirator brought the boys to Willis' residence, where they were given controlled substances and alcohol to gain their compliance and reduce their inhibitions, according to the indictment.

Willis took photographs and videos of the boys displaying their genitals and having sex acts performed on them by the co-conspirator, according to the indictment. On occasion, the co-conspirator took photographs and videos of the boys having sex acts performed on them by Willis.

The indictment says Willis paid the boys and the co-conspirator kept copies of the recordings.

Authorities said the illegal conduct began in September 1993 and continued until at least August 2001. They said they pursued the charges after recently discovering evidence in the case.

Each count of the indictment carries a minimum prison sentence of 10 years, and a maximum of 20.
