Iran nuclear deal is good for U.S., Mideast

I read Joe Pasternak's letter which turns out to be misleading.

First, it was not Obama's Iran nuclear deal. It was a United States, China, England, France, Germany and Spain deal. Iran turned over 90 percent of their plutonium to Russia. Without the deal, they'd have their first nuclear weapon by now. They were that close to having one.

Secondly, the U.S. Navy did say they were in Iranian water. Also the $400 million was not ransom for the sailors, no money exchanged hands for their release. The money was frozen Iranian assets and that was the first payment. The deal was made last January. We and other countries agreed to release their frozen assets. They still have over a billion dollars coming.

Also, what Mr. Pasternak doesn't mention is the deal Iran made with Boeing for passenger airliners. They could have gone with Airbus but chose Boeing.

The nuclear deal made Israel more secure. For now, they don't have to worry about getting nuked.

The Iranian youth like Western freedoms and our goods, like clothes and electronics. Remember, as the old vanguard fades out, the new one moves in. The government of Iran is not as hard lined as it was a few years ago.

Remember, five other nations are in on this deal and so far, Iran has upheld its end of the deal. Until and I say again until they violate the deal it's a good one for the Mideast also.
