Boys soccer: Elgin, Streamwood post season-opening wins

Roberto Martinez and Jesus Barraza scored 2 goals each as the Elgin boys soccer team opened the season with a 9-0 win over Machesney Park Harlem on Tuesday.

Also adding goals for the Maroons were Alex Kunicki, Alejandro Hernandez, Jesus Lopez, Rafael Perez and Mishael Gomez.

Streamwood 5. Glenbard East 1: Alex Chavez and Oscar Chavez had 2 goals each and Also Lazaro added a single score to lead the Sabres to a season opening win. Daniel Dominguez made 3 saves in goal for Streamwood.

Harvest Christian 4, Aurora Christian 1: Raphael DeSouza scored twice while Cesar Velazquez and Antonio Nevarez added goals to lead the Lions to the win. Matt Baron had 4 saves in goal for Harvest.

Hampshire 1, Kaneland 0: Tyler Fairwood scored off an assist from Braeden Frenette and Jason Polletta had 5 saves in goal as Hampshire (1-1) won in nonconference action.

St. Edward 9, Hiawatha 2: AJ Franklin and Will Gaston each had hat tricks to lead the Green Wave to a season-opening win. Josh Johansen scored twice for St. Edward and Chris Riedle added a goal. Evan Sajtar and Peter Cholewa each had 2 saves in goal.

Burlington Central 1, Belvidere North 1: CJ Heinz scored Central's goal as the Rockets forged a tie at the DeKalb tournament. David Murphy had 9 saves in goal for BC.

Dundee-Crown 2, Round Lake 1: Eric Martinez and Julian Ajroja scored the goals for the Chargers in this win at the Lake Forest tournament. Luis Cruz had 4 saves in goal for D-C.

St. Charles east - 4

East Aurora - 1

Adrian Hernandez with the goal and Carlos Gonzalez had the assist for East Aurora.
