Blagojevich is not getting justice

I sat on the edge of my seat listening to Len Goodman and Sam Adams Jr speak the truth about the unfair and unjust decision that was handed down to Rod Blagojevich from U.S. District Judge James Zagel.

I fought back the tears as I heard he wasn't given any break at all on his sentence.

I listened to his wife and daughters speak about the man that they love and that they need. I heard about the letters that were sent to the judge on his behalf from the men that are his inmates convicted of crimes far worse than his and how he is tutoring them and helping them make a difference in their lives and future.

I also heard that Mr. Blagojevich was sorry for what he had done, a crime that gave him no money, no benefit whatsoever, yet he was charged with 14 years in jail while at the present time we have presidential candidates that are doing the very same thing that he did for their campaign and it is considered legal.

As Sam Adams Jr. said so passionately, "We are in trouble. We have children and people dying every single day in our city of Chicago and now we have threats from gangs to kill our very needed Policemen and here we are using all this concentration and effort on punishing Mr. Blagojevich instead of cleaning up our streets."

Whether you like Rod Blagojevich or not, his crime did not fit the sentence, because if it did, then every single politician should be in jail with him. The weights of justice are definitely tipped, and I am really sad about this.
