Ask questions before you sign petitions
I am writing just to remind voters that while we have an election in November, there is also an election in April of 2017. This one affects our village, township and the local high school and library boards.
Petitions will be passed for your signature to add a potential candidate to the ballot in the April election. This process will start in September.
Please stop and ask about the person asking for your signature, about the issues and what the person has done to help our community prior to running and just do not blindly sign the petition, thus putting someone on the ballet that could be an embarrassment to the position, the board and affect our taxes and community and the future of our area.
