Foursomes available for District 214 Foundation Golf Open

Sponsorships and foursomes still are available for the District 214 Education Foundation's "Foundation for the Future" Golf Open and Reception Monday, Sept. 12, at the Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights.

The event, in line with the foundation's mission, supports student success and innovation initiatives and lifelong learning at a time when 30 percent of District 214 students live in poverty.

The event will feature brunch, 18 holes of golf, on-course contests and food prepared and served by District 214 culinary students, awards for top foursomes and a lively reception featuring the Hersey High School jazz combo.

A raffle and web-based silent auction - with prizes including Breckenridge and Lake Geneva vacations and two round-trip air tickets to any destinations in the contiguous United States - also will be part of the evening.

The day begins with a 10:30 a.m. registration and brunch; shotgun start is at noon. The reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. Prices are $250 for an individual golfer; $1,000 for a foursome[ or $1,300 for a premium foursome, which includes a caddie. A reception-only option is available for $50. Raffle tickets are $10 each or six for $50.

Alumni and community members are invited to participate. In the last year, the foundation has supported a number of initiatives, including college visits for first-generation students and their parents; scholarships; funding for entrepreneurship students; and Advanced Placement testing fees for low-income students, translating to hundreds of early college credits.
