Bartlett Chess Club takes first at annual tournament

The Bartlett Chess Club placed first in the 34th Annual Interlibrary Chess Tournament at the Bloomingdale Public Library on Saturday, August 6, 2016.

While the Bartlett Public Library District placed first, the Carol Stream Public Library and the Bloomingdale Public Library placed second and third, respectively.

Players in 2nd-12th grade competed in five rounds of chess to determine the team winner.

Bartlett player Shubh Vaghani had the highest individual score, winning all five of his matches.

The next Chess Club program is on Monday, August 22 at 4 p.m. Grades 2-12: Everyone is welcome to play chess at the Bartlett Library! Beginners will receive instructions on how to play.
