Lady Volunteers release 2016-17 nonconference schedule

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee's 2016-17 women's basketball nonconference schedule features home games with Baylor, Stanford and Notre Dame plus a trip to Texas.

The school released its nonconference schedule Monday.

Baylor, Stanford and Texas joined Tennessee in regional finals last season. Notre Dame lost to Stanford in a regional semifinal, ending the Fighting Irish's string of five straight Final Four appearances.

Tennessee's home nonconference opponents are Navy (Nov. 13), Tennessee State (Nov. 30), Baylor (Dec. 4), Appalachian State (Dec. 14), Stanford (Dec. 18), Troy (Dec. 21), UNC Wilmington (Dec. 29) and Notre Dame (Jan. 16). Tennessee's road nonconference foes are James Madison (Nov. 11), East Tennessee State (Nov. 15), Penn State (Nov. 20), Virginia Tech (Nov. 27) and Texas (Dec. 11).

The Lady Vols are coming off a 22-14 season.
