New Long Grove fest is all about craft beer

The streets in historic downtown Long Grove are closed Friday and Saturday for a new festival that pays homage to the Chicago area's craft beer scene. Craft Beer & BBQ Days marries local craft beer and chef-driven BBQ food, on Robert Coffin Road in the heart of downtown Long Grove.

On Friday night, the focus was primarily on barbecue - eating it, cooking it and learning from a BBQ grill master, Greg Gaardbo, owner of Rockin Rodizio.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, look for a traditional craft beer fest, with local craft beer samplings, games, live music, brewing education and interactive stations about the art and science of beer. More than 15 local breweries and dozens of different beers, both hometown favorites and rare tappings, will be available.

General admission tickets for Saturday are $45; a VIP pass is $70.
