Donation for Special Olympians

Round Lake Area Park District Special Olympic athletes have received a $1,000 donation from Jewel-Osco. The check was presented to a group that included some Special Olympics athletes Wednesday, as part of the grand reopening of the store at 900 E. Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach. Park district officials said the money will be used to support the district's Special Olympics programs. District officials said their program offers area Special Olympics athletes a chance to compete in seven sports and more than 100 athletes participate.
