Serious injuries reported in Naperville crash
A crash involving two cars and a motorcycle had the intersection Naper Boulevard and Chicago Avenue in Naperville sent two people to the hospital and shut down traffic in all four directions, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 2:15 p.m. and caused life-threatening injuries, Sgt. Steve Schindlbeck said.
Two people have been taken to the hospital and a third was evaluated at the scene but refused further medical treatment, the Naperville Fire Department said.
The police department's traffic unit arrived about 3 p.m. to begin an investigation. The road closures were expected to last several hours, tying up a major north/south artery through Naperville.
This is the fourth major crash with injuries in the city in two days. Others included a fatal one-vehicle crash early Monday morning on Washington Street near Bauer Road; a fatal head-on collision on Book Road between 75th and 83rd streets; and a five-car pileup with minor injuries at North Aurora Road and Enterprise Court.
