Oh baby! Diaper derby, other events keep Windmill City fest spinning
Eleven-month-old Danny Owen of North Aurora crawled his way to victory Saturday as the clear winner of this year's Diaper Derby at Batavia's Windmill City Festival.
The race was one of many events planned for the four-day fest, which continues Sunday.
The festival, which draws between 10,000 and 13,000 attendees, is one of Batavia's most popular events. The schedule includes a variety of opportunities to watch and participate. New this year are a sidewalk chalk drawing contest, a Chuck the Duck Race and paddle boats. Other highlights are the pet parade, golf challenge, carnival, bands and an ice cream eating contest.
