Attorney says Schaumburg mom's health deteriorating in prison

A Schaumburg woman sentenced to four years in prison for the 2015 death of her severely disabled daughter has been transferred to a prison in central Illinois, where she is not housed in a medical unit in spite of chronic medical conditions, her attorney said. Attorney Thomas Glasgow said Bonnie Liltz, who has an ostomy pouch, has dropped to 84 pounds and has had two infections. Full story.

Former theater owner pleads guilty to tax evasion, fraud

The one-time owner of the Hollywood Blvd. movie theater in Woodridge and the Hollywood Palms cinema in Naperville pleaded guilty Wednesday to sales-tax evasion and financial institution fraud and must make up to $6 million in restitution. The Illinois Department of Revenue began investigating Edwin C. "Ted" Bulthaup III, 59, of Woodridge in February 2014. Full story.

St. Charles woman killed in 4-vehicle crash near Campton Hills

A St. Charles woman was killed and two other people were injured in a four-car crash Thursday afternoon near Campton Hills. A vehicle driven by Janice Willenborg, 74, was rear-ended and pushed into westbound traffic, where it was hit by an oncoming semitrailer truck, according to Lt. Patrick Gengler of the Kane County sheriff's office. Full story.

Republican Mark Kirk was among the three senators in presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's crosshairs in a tense meeting among Trump and lawmakers Thursday. One injured in 3-vehicle crash in East Dundee

One person was injured Thursday in a three-vehicle crash in East Dundee, authorities said. About 3:40 p.m., a vehicle was stopped at a stop sign on Penny Road at Route 68 when it was rear-ended by second vehicle and pushed into the intersection, Police Chief Terry Mee said. Then, a third vehicle hit the first vehicle, causing it to roll over onto its side, he said. Full story.
