Stories, songs entertain children during Libertyville farmers market

What better way to entertain children at a farmers market than to read stories and sing songs?

Fresh-Picked Stories takes place during the Libertyville farmers market from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays in Cook Park through Aug. 11.

Cook Park Library Children's Librarian Maura Czerwinski entertained about 30 children on the lawn with stories, songs and shakers and ribbons.

Czerwinski said she concentrates the event on early literacy skills.

“It's so much fun the kids don't know how much they are learning,” she said.
