Yellowbrick Annouces Hire of Jill Sisler as Director of Campus Competence

Ten years after Yellowbrick opened its first residential facility to help young adults with mental health issues, the organization is pleased to announce that Jill Sisler has recently been hired as Director of Campus Competence, effective July 5. Sisler will oversee a new second residential facility, known Campus Competence, scheduled to open in Evanston by Labor Day.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jill to Yellowbrick," said Dr. Jesse Viner, CEO and Chief Medical Officer at Yellowbrick. "Jill brings compassion and expertise in treating adolescents and emerging adults, as well as a passion for guiding individuals towards personal healing and growth. I know she will be a valuable asset to our Yellowbrick team."

Sisler will be instrumental in overseeing Yellowbrick's new facility, which will be located in a beautiful Victorian mansion just two blocks from Northwestern University's campus. Campus Competence will house up to eight young adults and will offer a sober, supportive, off-campus living environment where students can get academic counseling and learn skills such as time management, problem solving, managing anxiety, and improving interpersonal relationships.

"Often, young adults who are in recovery from co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse, eating disorders or learning disabilities, can struggle academically and socially, causing them to drop out of school. Campus Competence intends to provide a supported living environment that these students need to help them thrive in college," Sisler said.

Sisler's brings a diverse background as a clinical social worker in a wide variety of settings - including Allendale Association, Jewish Children's Bureau, Old Orchard Hospital, Lawrence Hall Youth Services, North Shore University Health System and Timberline Knolls - making her uniquely qualified for this position. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, Sisler received a master's in social work from Loyola University of Chicago and her bachelor's in sociology from University of Denver. She lives in Buffalo Grove and is the mother of two emerging adult sons.
