East Dundee to host Motor Mondays, Wine Down Wednesdays

East Dundee is gearing up for fun when it hosts two of its major special events in the same week at The Depot on River Street.

"Motor Mondays" from 5 p.m. to dusk July 4 will showcase all varieties of cars, regardless of their make or model, along River Street, in the downtown East Dundee business district.

This family-friendly event is sponsored by Andresen & Associates, P.C. and also features raffles and music provided by air personality and DJ Rudy K. Unlike years past, alcohol consumption is limited to those establishments adjacent to the event, which include Diamond Jim's, The Uncommon Palate, Aliano's Ristorante, and Calendo's.

"Wine Down Wednesdays" on July 6 is a reschedule of the June 22 date that was rained out. Held from 6 to 10 p.m., it offers an opportunity for adults to sample wines from France. Admission is free, but those wishing to participate in the tastings must be 21 years of age and purchase a wristband for $1 from the Dundee Foundation. Wine tastings are $6 for three 1.5 oz. samples or $6 per glass. Bottle prices vary. No outside liquor will be allowed.

Entertainment will be provided by Dave Byron. More than a dozen artisans will be on hand selling their handcrafted works of art. Budding artists will be able to create their own oil on canvas in one sitting at classes being offered on-site by Artisticology from 7-9 p.m.

Reservations are encouraged and a fee applies. Small plates of food will be provided by the Anvil Club, Aliano's Ristorante, Dooley's Irish Ale House, Dundee Depot Dogs, and The Uncommon Palate.

Wine Down Wednesdays is sponsored by Artisticology and Payroll Vault.
