Eastern Indiana town council member sentenced to probation

DUBLIN, Ind. (AP) - A member of an eastern Indiana town's council has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic disturbance.

The (Richmond) Palladium-Item reports (http://pinews.co/2936hsq ) that 57-year-old Carol Study of the Dublin Town Council was sentenced Monday to one year of probation. She was arrested in February and charged in March with resisting law enforcement.

Online court records show both sides told a Wayne County judge June 1 that a plea agreement was reached in the case. The resisting law enforcement charge was dismissed and Study pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge.

Study finished fifth in a six-way race for five seats on the Dublin Town Council in last November's election. She previously was appointed to fill a vacancy.
