Rolling Meadows man wins Powerball prize

A Rolling Meadows resident has won a $50,000 Powerball prize with a $2 Quick Pick ticket. Ashokbhai Patel recently came forward with a ticket that matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the Jan. 9 drawing. Patel, 55, has lived in Rolling Meadows for more than a year. He has two children and two grandchildren and plans to share his Powerball winnings with them. The retailer who sold the winning ticket, the 7-Eleven at 1786 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, will get a $500 bonus, or 1 percent of the prize amount. For details, visit
