Durbin is right; Congress must act

Thank you, Sen. Durbin for your words. The madness we have all just witnessed must be addressed.

Your words in the Daily Herald last week were masterful. You spoke of Congress' inability to act. I'm tired of the all too familiar actions that come into play. As you said, we're "heartbroken and outraged" watching "first responders do their grim duty" while "Congress does nothing."

This is beyond politics. This is outrageous. No one defends his or her home with an automatic weapon. Enough. Let's do something please.

Our children are dying at the hands of sick human beings- regardless of their ethnicity - who have been able to buy automatic weapons for mass destruction.

Enough is enough.

It's not about the Second Amendment; it's about humanity and love. Please.
