4Th Annual Taste The Rainbow Pride Picnic & Pub Crawl

HIGHWOOD, IL (June 20, 2016) - Downtown Highwood was pulsating with vibrant colors of the rainbow this past Saturday, June 18th at Celebrate Highwood's 4th Annual Taste the Rainbow Pride Picnic & Pub Crawl, sponsored by Van Gogh Vodka. In light of the recent tragedy in Orlando, FL, a number of businesses also joined together for a 'Van Gogh for Orlando' fundraiser in support of the LGBTQ community during its local pride event which raised more than $1,200 for the Pulse Victims Fund including matched funds from Van Gogh Vodka.

The public celebrated Pride Fest locally with a Taste the Rainbow picnic in Cellar Gate Wine Market's courtyard, followed by a pub crawl throughout Highwood until 1:30 a.m. In celebration of diversity, each bar served up a different Van Gogh Vodka mixed drink inspired by the many colors of the rainbow: Red Sangria from Cellar Gate Wine Market, Orange Screwdrivers from Teddy O'Brian's, Yellow Lemon Drops from The Wooden Nickel, Green Appletinis from The Toadstool Pub, Blue Crushes from Bar 210, and Purple Acai Blueberry and Club Sodas from The Humble Pub, where the party continued into the night.

'Van Gogh for Orlando' donation jars were posted throughout Highwood for attendees and business patrons to help support the victims and families of the recent Orlando shooting, with Van Gogh Vodka matching Highwood's total donations. The public is encouraged to still donate to 'Van Gogh for Orlando' through www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund and continue the goodwill.

"Celebrating Pride with Taste the Rainbow in Highwood just proved one more time that in the spirit of love, anything is possible," said event producer, Florencia Lagos. "Love always wins!"
