Dist. 63 provides free meals for children

East Maine Elementary District 63 will provide free, cold meals this summer to all children 18 and under who reside within the district.

As a United State Department of Agriculture-approved summer food service program site, District 63 is providing breakfast and lunch on weekdays through July 29 at Gemini Junior High School, 8955 Greenwood Ave. in Niles. Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. and lunch at noon. No meals will be served July 4.

Breakfast only will be served Monday through Thursday at three other schools from July 11 through Aug. 4. Apollo School, 10100 Dee Road in Des Plaines, will serve breakfast at 8 a.m.; Melzer School, 9400 Oriole Ave. in Morton Grove, at 8 a.m.; and Stevenson School, 9000 Capital Drive in Des Plaines, at 8:15 a.m.
