One Hope United, Kiwanis welcome summer with picnic

The clouds turned to sunshine as the staff and kids from One Hope United in Lake Villa enjoyed their inaugural summer picnic June 1. There were hot dogs and hamburgers provided by the Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst/the Lakes, and a dunk tank and games for the youth. To top it off, an ice cream truck had free ice cream for everyone. It was a perfect way for the kids to talk with the Kiwanis volunteers and get to know each other better.
