Sheriff: Volo man facing domestic-related charges

A Volo man is facing charges in connection with a domestic dispute in his home Saturday, officials said.

Phillip R. Routhier, 38, of the 1300 block of Viola Lane, is charged with three counts of domestic battery, according to a news release from the Lake County sheriff's office.

About 10:35 p.m., deputies were called to Routhier's residence, where he is accused of battering two adult family members, officials said. The victims, as well as a child, were able to leave the home, authorities said, and Routhier, who was highly intoxicated, was inside with another child.

Routhier refused to leave his home when deputies made contact with him via telephone, officials said, so they entered the house and took him into custody.

Routhier was also charged with obstructing a peace officer, according to the news release. His bail was set at $50,000, and his next court date is Thursday.
