Lake Villa's annual Celebration of Summer held Saturday

Lake Villa's 16th annual Celebration of Summer featured music, fireworks and more Saturday at Lehmann Park.

A car show, with a variety of years, makes and models, and a craft fair opened the event in the morning.

The Lake Villa Township Ribfest kicked off at noon and included a rib-eating contest. Awards were given to the teams with for the best sauce ribs, dry-rub ribs, booth theme and people's choice. Ribfest is a fundraiser for the township's food pantry.

The festival also included a Ravinia-style concert in the evening that featured Crow's Feet Unplugged, followed by a fireworks show at dusk to close out the event.
