Wynonna Judd, Ira Glass among College of DuPage's McAninch 2016-17 lineup
The McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn has announced its 30th anniversary season, featuring an eclectic mix of acts including Wynonna Judd, Bruce Hornsby and Ira Glass.
Shows featured in Belushi Performance Hall during 2016-17 include:
• The visually stunning "Opus Cactus" by the acclaimed modern dance troupe MOMIX at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
• An Acoustic Evening with John Hiatt at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.
• Stephen Schwartz and Friends featuring performances by the Grammy and Academy Award-winning songwriter behind such hit shows as "Wicked" and "Pippin" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.
• Grammy Award winners Herb Alpert and Lani Hall (former lead vocalist for Sérgio Mendes & Brazil '66) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
• "Shanghai Nights" featuring The Shanghai Acrobats of the People's Republic of China at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.
• Travel writer and TV host Rick Steves discussing "Travel as a Political Act" at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.
• Grammy Award-winner Bruce Hornsby at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28.
• The Havana Cuba All Stars performing the concert "Cuban Nights" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.
• Country star and Grammy Award-winner Wynonna Judd with Wynonna Judd & the Big Noise Christmas at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.
• Comedian Kathleen Madigan at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
• "Swan Lake" performed by the touring Russian National Ballet Theatre at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017.
• Giordano Dance Chicago at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4.
• "Seven Things I've Learned: An Evening with Ira Glass" at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.
• Irish folk band The High Kings at 8 p.m. Friday, March 10.
• Hip-hop and classical crossover band Black Violin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11.
Belushi Performance Hall will also see return engagements by the likes of The Second City (Oct. 1 and Dec. 10), The Capitol Steps (April 1), Von Heidecke's Chicago Festival Ballet's annual engagement of "The Nutcracker" (Dec. 17 and 18), plus a full season of classical works performed by The New Philharmonic.
