Schaumburg Library Offers Computer and Phone Classes in June

Adults interested in enhancing their computer skills or learning new ones are welcome to register for classes at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

Classes labeled "senior" are for students ages 50 and older. Senior classes are offered at the discounted price of $9, with the normal fee being $12 for Schaumburg Township District Library cardholders and $17 for noncardholders.

The following classes take place in June and have openings. To register or get details on subjects covered in each class, call the library's Computer Assistance Desk at (847) 923-3352.

• Senior Android Phone/Tablet Part A takes place from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 8. Part B is slated for the same time on Wednesday, June 15. The instructor will cover various phone functions and using apps.

• iPhone/iPad 2 will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10. Students will learn to organize screens, use apps, set up email and more.

• Photoshop 2 is scheduled from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12. This class builds on the skills learned in Photoshop 1 and includes working with layers.

• Android Phone/Tablet 1 will take place from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17. Attendees will learn the basics of using their device and apps.

• Senior iPhone/iPad 2 Part A will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, with Part B at the same time on Thursday, June 23. Topics will include using the Internet, apps and more.

• Android Phone/Tablet 2 is slated from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24. Participants will learn how to download, use apps, organize screens and more.

• HTML, the language used to create Web pages, will be held from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25.

• Excel Data Analysis is scheduled from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. Students will learn to sort, filter and use Solver to analyze data, in addition to creating a PivotTable and PivotChart.

Excel Formatting Spreadsheets takes place from 1:30-3:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 26. Topics will include text wrapping, borders, text rotations and alternating shading to create appealing spreadsheets.

Registration can take place by phone or in person at the Computer Assistance Desk on the library's second floor.
