From ivory tower, Trump feels your pain
When I woke up a few mornings ago, I was a Republican, a conservative. After headlines that Trump is the nominee under the Republican banner, I underwent a profound change.
I am still conservative, but now I am an Independent, not a Republican. Neither my moral nor intellectual integrity could and would allow me to support Trump and his Trumpites. Trump has "You're Fired" me. He has fractured the Republican Party and made it no longer a voice of conservative ideas. He is a personal gift of the gods to the Democrat Party.
This Crown Prince is a loose cannon. His personality and his instincts are characterized as irruptions. No. domestic or foreign policy, other than "I will make American great again," will make Mexico, China and our overseas allies pay for whatever he decides to negotiate. I am a great negotiator!
Now as an Independent, I can vote without party labels. I will vote for Hillary Clinton. I can't believe is just said that. In Hillary you are not getting much, but at least you know what you are getting. Besides, she will have the advice of her husband Bill, a savvy politician, who was a successful dealmaker in working with a Republican Congress.
There is one last question to the Trumpites. Once your anger has subsided, what do you have left? A Republican election disaster at all levels. This, at a time when this was the year for the Republicans to lose. Trumpites, you have succeeded; Republicans lost. Take comfort, Trump from his New York ivory tower, will reassure you that he feels your pain, while sipping champagne from golden goblets. Nice when you have it.
