Amdur productions announces seventh annual Barrington Art Festival Memorial Day weekend

The seventh annual Barrington Art Festival returns Memorial Day weekend, along Cook and Station streets in downtown Barrington. The festival will take place on May 28 & 29, from 10 am- 5pm. This festival has free admission and free parking.

The Barrington Art Festival will showcase the work of more than 130-juried artists from around the country in a variety of mediums, including painting, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, glass, sculpture and more. In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats.

This festival will also feature live music by Patchouli, delicious food from, Fresh and Fruity Concessions, Lisa's Italian Ice, Mediterranean Cuisine, Popcorn Jester, The NutMan Co. and Trattoria 225 on wheels. The festival will also have a youth art tent for children to create clay works of art.

"The Barrington Art Festival is delighted to serve as part of the festivities that are marking the Village's anniversary," says Peg Blanchard, Economic Development director of Barrington. "Adding art to Barrington's already charming downtown, which is filled with fantastic café's, boutiques and restaurants, only enhances the village's appeal as a must-visit, must-see weekend destination."

This year at the festivals Amdur Productions has started a new charity initiative called the Green Ribbon Project. The project connects the festival with an important cause and aims to stimulate art buying at the festival. Participating artists put a green ribbon on a piece of their choice in their booth and when the piece is sold the artist agrees to give 10% of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society, which is the dedicated charity for the Barrington Art Festival.
