Volunteers make Candy Days happen

On the last weekend of April, Misericordia Home (a residential home for children and adults with mental and/or physical challenges) held its 31st Candy Days fundraiser! Despite the challenging spring weather, thousands of volunteers fanned out across Chicago and the suburbs, walking back and forth at intersections, standing at corners, waiting at train stations and storefronts to collect donations for Misericordia.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated in this large and crucial effort, including the residents of Rolling Meadows, Arlington Heights and the surrounding area for contributing so generously to this cause!

We also wish to thank our volunteers, many of whom have donated their time even though they do not have a resident at Misericordia. Some of our volunteers have helped out for years; some were new this year. From the Cub Scouts to a group of Hersey High School students, the Misericordia Family members and many caring friends, we could not do this without you!

Thank you again for your generosity. It will truly make a difference in the lives of Misericordia's residents! Hope to see you next year - the last Friday and Saturday of April!
