Curious reasoning for business tax relief

I the last few months, I have read articles on various companies that have received huge property tax reductions. Recently the Trump Towers and most recent the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines.

Real Estate developer Neil Bluhm stated the tax should be based upon what the property would be worth if we weren't operating a casino there.

I would like to take Mr. Bluhm with me when I apply for a tax reduction. He can argue for me what my property tax would be if I didn't have my house built on the land. Everyone else should apply using this theory.

I do not blame Trump or Bluhm. The real culprit is the Cook County Board of Review and the three elected officials. Their names should be posted prior to elections with all the savings they made for big business.

And these officials then are responsible for us taxpayers to raise our taxes to make up the differences.
